With a league-high $35 million in cap space, the Knicks signed … Alec Burks.
Indeed, the Knicks free-agent foray got off to a slow start, but they made one signing late Friday night, grabbing swingman Burks on a one-year, $6 million deal, according to a source.
The 6-foot-6 Burks started his career at Utah, where new Knicks assistant GM Walt Perrin drafted him in the first round in 2011 and was coached by new Knicks assistant Johnny Bryant.
A journeyman, Burks played with the Sixers and Warriors…
